Deborah C. Brown

Debbie is a Stetson University College of Law graduate and is admitted to practice in Florida. Debbie’s past employment experience includes roles as a hearing officer/staff attorney with the Public Employees Relations Commission, more than a decade of private practice labor and employment defense, and executive level HR roles as Director of Employee Relations at Walt Disney World and Vice President of HR at ZooTampa at Lowry Park. Chief legal counsel roles have included Associate Vice President of Legal Affairs and HR for Stetson University College of Law, Associate Vice President and General Counsel at Saint Leo University, and General Counsel at ZooTampa. Debbie is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and County Mediator, a United States District Court mediation panelist (M.D. Fla.), and is a panelist on the American Arbitration Association Workplace Investigation Panel. Debbie holds both the SHRM-SCP and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications. Debbie was awarded a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF ‘s Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021.

James F. Brown

James F. Brown serves as a Sr. HR Consultant for the firm. Jim holds both a BA in Business Administration and an MBA. His background includes a combination of F&B leadership and HR roles at Anheuser Busch Inc. (Busch Gardens) followed by almost two decades of employee relations experience at Walt Disney World, the largest single site employer in the U.S. In this latter role, he conducted workplace investigations regarding issues of alleged harassment and discrimination, recommending appropriate actions to correct issues of concern, and assisting management in the formal discipline, performance management, or termination of employees. Jim also advised leadership on appropriate HR procedures, and served as the primary Employee Relations departmental representative in union grievances over disciplinary actions taken because of investigation findings. Jim is a panelist on the American Arbitration Association Workplace Investigation Panel. Jim was awarded a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF ‘s Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021.
